What to expect

            If you have never sat with an astrologer to have your chart read I’m sure you would wonder what to expect from your reading. While I can’t speak for all astrologers, I can tell you what to expect from your reading with me.

            First, I will need your birth information including the date, exact time and the location. Using this I will draw a map of the sky from that perspective on the earth that is your chart.

            Once I have that I look at the planet’s positions relative to the earth that hold the information astrology gives us. In addition, there are ways of combining charts with other’s charts, like a significant other. I also cast a progressive chart that shows long term trends in a person’s life.  Finally, I will do a transit chart that shows the position of the planets currently so we can see how those energies are interacting with those in your chart.

            I look at a chart holistically, weighing the energies of the planets, the signs and the signs, seeing how they blend with each other. This is the art of the astrological reading as opposed to buying a book and looking up your planets individually or getting a computer interpretation of a chart. I can see patterns that emphasize or weaken their energies.

            I will spend a few hours studying a chart before we meet, then about 90 minutes discussing it with you. I say discussing because I’m not going to tell you about it, you are very much a part of the discussion. The chart is like the hand you are dealt in a card game. They are what they are, but now you get to play them. Some are stronger than others but it’s up to you to make the most of them in this lifetimes.

            By understanding your “strong suits” and your challenges we can talk about how things have worked out in the past and how to look at the future. I may not suggest specific events that could occur, but we can look at the timing of potentials and challenges to come.
